Arcade1UP’s Infinity Game Table lets you enjoy family board game nights without having to clean up all the plastic pieces afterward — whether your loved ones are in the same room or across the country.

One clear sign the game’s makers are on to something: the only time my mother-in-law stops playing solitaire on it is when my son and I are playing a game of Sorry.

This is a touchscreen table with a healthy number of familiar and traditional board games available for download via the table’s built-in wifi. We’re talking staples like Monopoly, Sorry, Scrabble, and Trivial Pursuit mixed in with classics like Solitaire, Checkers, and Chess.

When Arcade1Up launched a digital board game table on Kickstarter, the first obvious question was when it would hit general availability. That date seems to be approaching quickly, as the company announced pre-orders for the Infinity Game Table will start on July 17th—exclusively at Best Buy.

The Infinity Game Table is, by many measures, the future of board games. While plenty of board game fans prefer the tactile feel of carboard, the rapidly encroaching all-digital future can offer a lot of benefits that regular board games can’t.

Now they’re trying something a bit different with the Infinity Game Table. Not only are they attempting to round up a ton of different games into one project: they’re also creating their own platform.

If you missed the Kickstarter, though, you’ll soon be able to buy the Infinity Game Table for yourself: it will be available to preorder exclusively from Best Buy starting July 17th.

During an E3 press preview, Arcade1Up debuted its Infinity Game Table — an enormous, waterproof tablet designed specifically to play board games with tactile feedback.

For the last several weeks I have been trying out the Infinity Game Table, a touchscreen tabletop PC dedicated to playing card and board games, including popular titles like Scrabble and Monopoly.

Driving the news: Tastemakers — best known for Arcade 1Up, its line of slimmed down versions of ’80s arcade games — is launching retail sales of the Infinity Game Table next month, following a successful Kickstarter campaign.
